Hi Everyone,
I am a young, very hard working person who has the inpiration to start my own company, however i am struggling to come up with a very good name for my company. I have looked at existing companies and most of them relate to the individuals name whereby i would like something that is different from the rest.
I have thought of an idea such as Unique Paving Services however i don't really know if that sounds good. Can you please give some advice on proposed name and any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

You could have something like Utterly Super Paving, and your tagline could be "thats our USP" :p

(unique selling point)

Very good:D

Try to keep away from Cheezy names that play on words.

Stay away from generic words like quality or features that you would expect from a paving company as standard.

At the end of the day you are selling yourself, so using your name is a pretty sound approach.

Alternatively you could go for something regional, like London Paving.

These may not seem exciting but they are solid approaches to naming a trustworthy company.

Silly names are for those who need to hide the fact that they aren't particularly good at laying paving.

From your handle I thought 321 may be your kind of place, but I am a booler at the VOLBC so it's there in the summertime and Balloch in the Winter.

If you are looking to become self employed then to be honest it might be a good idea to just start with:

[Your Name] Paving

It may sound boring but if you are working alone it can often be much better to just portray yourself as an individual than as a "Company" at least for now to just start up then you may think about settings up a company later on.

Also by using your name you can become well known in your community, people will use you just because you are local and they know they can trust you and they may pass you onto friends etc.

I would go for a walk (nightime is good) brainstorm all the names while thinking about what you want to get across to your customers. Sometime after the walk you will have a spark of inspiration that has nothing to do with any of the names that you previously considered. That's your name.
At the end of the day an exceptional quality of service is more important than having an exceptional name

I note that we all seem to be enjoying this more than the OP, who has not come back to comment. :(

Anyway, if you are going to have a website then you may be best to use keywords in your domain name - something like yourtownpaving.co.uk.

Im sorry it took so long to reply but im new to this and only found the reply button this morning( and i want to run a business).
