Do I need a music license for my guests to watch Tv in their rooms . I’ve been contacted by PPL/PRS they demanding I pay £300 for a license!! The previous owner didn’t have one I’ve only owned the business since November. Do I risk a fine if I don’t pay? Thanks Sue

Unless the people are blaring music out their windows that lots of people can here, probably not. PPL/PRS are for music played in public.

You can call them and ask, if in doubt!

You will need a TV licence.

You need one for any presentation of music outside of a domestic setting and will include playing music via any device including the radio, TV broadcasts or other audio visual content containing music or putting on live performances of music.
