I am aware of a ltd company that has very recently gone under. Is there a way of finding out who the Insolvency Practitioner/Administrator is? The premises are locked, the telephone unanswered and nothing in the local press.

Have you looked at the insolvency website, not sure what information it holds on there but you can check it for people etc.

Thanks for that. A good idea but the information I'm seeking is not there. Perhaps the events are too recent.

Details should be posted at Companies House but can take up to 10 days to be updated. Also try the insolvency list website

Does the company owe you money for unpaid invoices? If they are in liquidation or administration you need to contact the insolvency practitioner to ensure you are on the creditor list.

Kind regards,

I'm guessing that's why the OP is asking for the IP's details!

An IP would normally post a notice on the door/window of the premises once he had formally been appointed, giving contact details.

Companies House is usually pretty good at getting information about insolvencies registered against companies but the IP may not have been appointed yet and it could be several days before he files notice of appointment even if he has; although he may not delay doing so deliberately.

You could also try getting the director's personal number and ringing him.
