Hi guys, I am going to submit my small ltd company accounts to hmrc & companies house very soon but after looking at the guide for filing on hmrc the form looks to be the same as the one on companies house. Can I submit the same form to both hmrc & companies house to save me doing it twice?

So I submit the first part to CH and the second to HMRC? Is it the same if I am doing abbreviated accounts to CH? Thank You:)

Yes. The first part will create a set of abbreviated accounts for Companies House. You will need your Companies House login to submit it. The second part is the detailed accounts, tax computation and CT600 tax return for HMRC.

Companies House has quite a nice web-based filing system for abbreviated accounts now, in case you don't like doing the joint filing thing.

Thank You. Can I get the joint submission form from both CH & HMRC? Is it best to do CH submission before HMRC or does this not matter?

What you need to do is enrol for online Corporation Tax if you have not already done so. When you log on this you will get the option to download the CT600 software. If you are using this for both submissions you need to to the Companies House accounts first before it will let you do the HMRC bit.

It is advisable to do the Companies House filing first as HMRC will expect what you submit to them to match Comnpanies House.

Sure. Yes I am registered for corporation tax. I will log in and look at the form. Is it the same as the CH one?

Would it be easier for me to get IXBRL software package to submit instead?
