Hello everyone,
My name is Kyle Taylor, I am an 18 year old student from Northwich, Cheshire, and I am driver of the number 134 car in a racing class called BriSCA Formula 2. I am debuting in the 2009 season, after acquiring a race car and transport during the winter. This is a new venture for me, but not to my dad who has raced for over 30 years in the passed but has since retired.
BriSCA Formula 2 are a full contact formula more commonly known as stock cars. These cars are purpose built for ¼ mile ovals racing on both dirt and tarmac, over 16 to 20 lap races. The cars are all home built rear wheel drive and running gear is taken from Ford Capris, Sierras, Cortinas, Granadas etc to keep costs down but with the cars weighing much less than a classic mini equipped with race tuned Ford 2 litre engines they are more than capable of doing over 70mph on the quarter mile ovals and accelerate quicker than most modern day sports cars. Each race has 30 to 40 cars in it with the best drivers starting towards the back and having to get to the front in under 5 minutes is not easy so forceful passing is the name of the game. Each meeting usually gets a few thousand spectators but we do also get TV coverage from time to time on Sky Sports channels even on channel five in recent times. Each competitor races 3 to 5 races per meeting depending on how far you get in the meeting and how much damage you receive. We race all over the country ranging from Cornwall to Crimond in Scotland, but they also race in Ireland and Europe.
I hope to race mostly at tracks located in the following places; Birmingham, Buxton, Coventry, Manchester, Norfolk, Northampton, Scunthorpe, Skegness, Worcester, and maybe make the odd appearance in less local areas too around the UK.
However all this is completely self-funded and as a student I cannot afford to race as often as I would like. I hope to make between 5 to 10 appearances this year on my own funds but if I had more funding I could get to more meetings, but it is difficult as there is no appearance money, and prize money does not come close to covering costs. My car has had a lot of exposure recently on forums and websites of the winter preparation and practise runs that I have been in as the race fans anticipate my debut.
So I am offering you the chance to sponsor my racing car, a new driver, a fresh face with a family history of great racing drivers, you could well be sponsoring the next up and coming superstar of the sport. I cant promise Ill become a champion this year, these things take time but I will certainly be doing my very best to live up to the family name, and the more meetings I do the faster I will get to grips with it.
The car is going to be sign written very soon, and I am offering the crowd side of the car, which is what people will see from the spectators point of view, on the safe side of the fence. I am open to any offers.

It is a common misconception that this is a mans sport, and only men go, it is in fact very much a family sport, and certainly more of a family day out.
