Logo Advise Please

If I had to choose, I would go with the bottom right, which is the closest to what I call a "logo", but I'm not generally happy where designers use simple text for logos...most of us could do that ourselves with the right fonts.

Can I just mention the resrictions of using the term Group in a business name... see companies house website for details.

I use group in my company name but its just a trading style not a Ltd company so we can get away with it. .mw-group.net!

I don't like the bottom left, and I would like the the bottom right without the big B at the top with the G inside.

I do like them much more than the button one, but the are very corporate and formal, so if thats what the spec is then its good.

If you are not a group within the same umbrella company then certainly the one on the top right mentioning "group of companies" would be more accurate in my opinion.

Either way, it would help if you post what the design brief was.

Thanks

Timescale = No rush.

Budget = ?!?!?

How much do you guys charge? It would help me decide if its the right way?

You'll find "professional designers" on here who charge £25 up to £££'s. I hate this sector, as every tom dick and harry believe they can be a designer.

Granted.. a bit of creativity and your part of the way there... but it's the same with plumbing, I wouldn't try and fix a leaky pipe even though I might know how to do part of it :)

I won't quote you, as you've already switched designers 2 / 3 times? What you should be doing - is sticking with the same designer and communicating efficiently.
Send some examples of what you like, dislike, colours, styles, your own sketches, other logos in the same market. Then talk... then draft ideas.

I can't stress enough. Communicate IS key to success!

I'm sure you'll get sorted in the end though! Don't rush it.. take your time :) Don't forget, for this "group" logo, you need something that can work along side the other businesses yet look the 'same'.

Zeal @ You are a full member and still havnt got a link in the sig? I think I have seen your website. Would ge great if you can post a link here so can have a quick look.

This is the second designer. First one was free. Yes free from UKBF who offered his work for free for first five people.

Would help if you can give an idea. I am certainly prepared to pay more than £25 for a good logo. lol

no logo examples on his work portfolio
Yes I have to say his current web site, does display his work in the traditional format, mainly becuase the work he is now doing has taken a different approach, however if you want to see the new logo he did for us PM your email addy and I will email you something through.

Might be worth a chat, you both might find its not for you, but would only cost a phone call, he is a member of the forum but isn't on much.

I am indeed a full member. But I don't feel the need to spam my sig with a link :p I became a full member to: a) Join the private forum.. b) say 'thanks'.

The wealth of information I've received from here and still continue to do so is out of this world :)
