Hi,

I am currently working in a team on a project to launch a fully integrated eCommerce site that runs on eBay and BigCommerce. The company has been selling on eBay for 4 years and is well established. It sells on average 40 to 80 items a day.

There are only two of us working on the Linnworks side of things and we're having trouble mapping and integrating the variation listings with BigCommerce.

So I was wandering if there were any professionals out there who could help or know of anyone who can help us complete this project and guide us through parts of Linnworks. We have a fairly flexible budget so we're able to negotiate a good service price.

This is the memo from the project leader.

Good Afternoon,

My name is Matthew Harris and I run the eCommerce department for a logistics company, we maintain several eBay stores and I'm looking to integrate one into BigCommerce using Linnworks.

The products NurserySavings sell are mainly returns and end of line stock from major retailers in the UK, all nursery goods.

I have got quite far with the set up but currently having trouble with inventory imports/listing/attributes/mapping/etc and I'm finding it quite complex to learn all of this on my own with no previous experience in Linnworks and was looking for some guidance.

Our eBay store is fully operational and has been for the past 3 years, we recently changed the store and listing templates to match our new design for the BigCommerce store and I would like to keep this for when setting up the ebay template used by Linnworks.

The BigCommerce store is mostly set up as far as I can tell and is pretty much ready to launch apart from obviously no listings are ready on Linnworks to push over to it, I’m guessing some mapping will need to be done, and I also don’t fully understand attributes and variation listings.

With all of our products that we sell we have a grading system for the quality of the item (A grade, B grade and C grade) and I would like for each listing to have the option for the customer to select which grade they would like to buy and give it a unique SKU.

Variations such as colours do not need to be included as I want these to be unique listings, so for example with a pushchair there will be 2 listings if we have a red and a blue one of the same model.

You will see we mainly do auctions on eBay but all products sold via Linnworks will be buy it now listings with fixed prices, hopefully we can still upload auctions via turbo lister without it interfering with Linnworks but if this is not possible then we can change everything to fixed price listings.

I work at our headquarters in Saxham Business Park but our stock is shipped from one of our warehouses in Thetford – as far as shipping goes I have had this all set up with our courier (Team-C who are a subsidiary of APC Overnight) – I have put through a test order from BigCommerce to Linnworks in the past and then ran a batch process order I created and the label printed out fine at the other end so no set up will be needed with the shipping as far as I am aware.

A problem we came across was that some items require more than 1 box but I could not find a way to map an attribute into Linnworks from BigCommerce telling Linnworks to print a certain number of labels for 1 SKU – I got over this by naming our packing groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (5 is the highest number of labels we will require for one SKU) and then our couriers database taking the packing group fields number and importing it for the number of labels to print out. I’m not sure if this is a good workaround compared to alternative methods you may know but it seems to get the job done.

I wanted to create an import CSV with all the fields required and fill them in manually from our CSV backup from Turbolister (I’ll have to add a few things as well) but when it came to importing variation listings I got stuck and didn’t really know how to proceed. So if you could help with the creation of a CSV template that can do that and I can fill in all the required fields that would be great.

Whatever listings and variation groups have been created for testing can be deleted and you can start over as I’ve probably done a lot of it wrong, I was just trying to get to grips with how everything worked.

Just to be clear it’s only the eBay and BigCommerce channels we want to be using to begin with as our products are not really suited for Amazon being returns – Ideally our long term goal is to slowly move our customer base from eBay to our BigCommerce store.

I can give you all login details for linnworks/bigcommerce/ebay but please be aware our ebay store is very much active and selling around 100 items a day so hopefully everything can be set up without interfering with our ebay stores selling capability.

I apologize for how long and in depth this message has been but I think it’s easier for you to understand where I’m at and whether you can help me when I explain everything in detail.

If possible I would like to learn/follow the setup of Linnworks/Bigcommerce by watching via TeamViewer so I can get a better understanding of how everything works, this is not essential though and I know I may only need to understand the import CSV once everything has been mapped and is working.

I look forward to your reply and working with you.

Kind regards,

Matthew Harris
