Late Payments - What action to take next

I have a problem with a company not paying me. They are now over two months late and have stopped responding to my emails and won't answer my phone calls.

What courses of action can I now take? I am not worried about getting any future business from them as I don't wish to do business with companies like this who do not have the common decency to contact me, even if only to say they are having difficulty paying.

I have repeatedly chased regularly every Fridays. I know they make payments on Friday. My contact is the finance director and nobody else can or will give out information. Trying to get him on the phone is impossible as he is always either "in a meeting" or "at lunch"

help!

Why contact them on a Friday if that's the day they pay? surely you should call on a Tuesday to make sure you are on the payment list...

I'm sure the other collectors will be as happy as I would be to help you... based on what you've said, you should have no trouble finding someone to take this on at a "no potential cost to you" basis... I would...

Well I've been chasing every day some weeks and trying to prompt a day or two before but no luck!

How would you be able to help then?

Geoff and Steve - both above are well known, and have a gazillion people that will line up to confirm that.

I don't know exactly what they do - because I don't need to. They charm money out of bad payers somehow. I suspect that many years of experience might be a part of the secret!

For a "self help" thing am going to find a way to print that post and stick it up on my wall - think Steve and Namesake should too! (just to start the list!);):)

We provide training so businesses can carry out their own debt recovery. Please visit our website for more information. Going to court should be a last resort but they are there to help businesses recover what they are entitled to. Check Companies House and the London Gazette to see what listings there are for the debtor if it is a company for any warning signs as to whether it is insolvent or about to become insolvent.

How the hell can someone who fixes a tap (and if you can, total respect for what you're good at!) be expected to understand legal posts in the LG or know what CH means - when they don't tell you much of naff all in the 1st place!... don't EVER expect the "layperson" to understand the UK legal system, as right now even the 'experts' don't know... and they're the buggers we spend silly money on to cover our as...and the system is so TOTALLY loaded in favour of the customer - rather than the business owner...
