I am thinking that the unintended consequences of sites like this one could quickly turn high profit products into low profit products for sellers. They perhaps will benefit consumers rather than necessarily benefiting sellers to any great extent.

Any decent research method can do the same if sellers find out about a product.
The rise in private label products adds to this - if one seller can do private label and get good sales then a couple of dozen more can do the same. Without the good sales bit.
Usually blaming the platform (which has the new private label product low in search results) and other sellers (who jumped on the bandwagon) rather than themselves.

Perhaps harder to copy products are a way forward.

And then the channel (platform) - now charge us for advertising the new unique product on their sites so that it gets seen

Wow is that a license to print money

The channel is probably going to get the sale anyway - and then all those adverts on top that we pay for gives them even more money

It is truely awe inspiring

This is not like google where they do not then get a cut of the final sale as well - because we leave google and then go to someones web site
