Is anyone trading on Amazon?

Are you allowed to utilise the email addresses for your own website mailings, if they have only used your store in amazon.

I have a store on amazon - doing as you guys have discussed. I pop a flyer in each order - but wonder where I stand with putting these customers on my own mailing list.

Cheers

As others have said, the most important thing on Amazon is to work out your costs properly. If you are VAT registered, that plus Amazon's fees will take 35% of your selling price before you considered your purchase price of the product, and postage.

Personally I think it would be difficult even for those buying at wholesale prices to make money.

I use Amazon and it works okay for me, but then I manufacture my own products so the margin is there.

Hi Everyone,
This is my 1st post, I'll introduce myself shortly.
I just wanted to respond to a post that mentioned that mentioned Amazon's price parity policy. We were selling some items on our own webiste a little under Amazon's prices. They suspended us in February for this. We appealed and were reinstated.
Last week they emailed listing 2 items that were apparently cheaper-with one of them they didn't take into account the p&p and so it wasn't cheaper on our own and the other had just slipped through the net.
This time we have been permanently suspended and we're not allowed to sell again.
I could kick myself as I knew that they would do this. We have been suspended before over ridiculous things and funds held for longer than they should.
I'm also annoyed that we have relied on Amazon and so now we are going to really struggle, we have totally neglected our own website. And now staring at 90 days without our last settlement. Bad times.

Anyway, the moral of my story is BE CAREFUL! They are pretty ruthless.
BTW, if anyone knows if this could be considered price fixing I would be extremly interested!

Edited to add, we have traded on Amazon for over 4 years.
