This should be pretty straightforward from an insurance point of view. You need to speak to an independent insurance broker, who can take time to understand your business and carry out a quotation exercise for you.

A few things you need to consider:

    1. Your terms and conditions - how do you value your customers property? If it was damaged or stolen whilst in your care, what is it worth (it was broken before it came to you, so should only be worth the cost of broken machine? Will you be in dispute with your customer as to how much it was worth! Make sure your T&C's are clear!

    2. Professional Indemnity - this may or may not be needed, depending on exactly what you are doing. If you are providing software fixes/updates etc, then this would be a requirement - it may not be cheap, depending on what you are doing!

    3. Public Liability and Customer property - Public Liability cover is for loss or damage you cause to other people and their property BUT it excludes property in your custody care or control! (ie. Public Liability does not cover damage you cause to customer property!). You must therefore make sure any policy includes cover for "Goods In Trust" - this will provide cover for loss or damage to other peoples property in your care custody or control
