Come the end of this month you will no longer be able to post adverts for free on Indeed

It has been a useful place for small businesses to run their adverts for free and if you can put up with the poor signal to noise ratio likely fill "normal" jobs. But from the end of this month Indeed will make you "sponsor" jobs, those already running will be allowed to continue but all new ones will need sponsoring (no I don't know the amount)

So if you were about to advertise a role - get it done now rather than waiting 2 weeks

That's a shame. I use Indeed quite a bit. We only sponsor jobs when we're desparate to fill a role. Otherwise the applications trickle in.

Any thoughts on a replacement? I tried Linked in a while back but very few applications.

I haven't been doing hands on recruitment since mid pandemic (i did perm IT so we were killed by lockdowns) - LinkedIn in my view was always a slow burn thing, you rarely got immediate responses, it was more for pointing out to those in your industry sector what you looked for and they would approach you at a time that suited them.

We used to use CVLibrary as they charged monthly fees which were good and you basically paid for slots (you could have x jobs advertised at any one time) which allowed us to swap jobs in and out proactively making most use of the spend - REED used to offer a free advertising option, i never used it as it was aimed at office type staff not IT plus i objected to helping the opposition (if applicants didnt tick the right box they also registerred with REED by applying).

What industry are you in/type of people do you look for and I will put my thinking cap on.
