Help. Have no prior experience and am looking to purchase batteries from a manufacturer in China. Where do I start,??????

you will find the batteries will have to be shipped as few if any air carriers will now carry batteries. Ship cargo takes 4-8 weeks but is cheaper.

As per the rules:

i) You can ship batteries as accessories of main parts such as mobiles.

ii) Shipping only the batteries, If using couriers, your shipping agent should be able to find you a possible way to ship them. Leagally saying, Lithium and any other batteries are allowed for shipping with Air freight but need 2 certifications. One is called the MSDS- Material Safety Document Sheets, the other one is called UN38.3. If the manufacturer is legally doing business, he should be able to provide these.

I think you should first complete all the formalities related to international business. Because to get goods from some other country you need to fulfill certain requirements.
Why you are looking for chinese batteries?

I am curious why you would plan to import batteries from China. Batteries products will have to be shipped by sea generally because of potential exploding risk. And also branded batteries almost occupied the total market. I have ever worked in a UK agent based in China and in charge of batteries export to UK, and there are some big batteries manufacturers who have produced for Tesco, ASDA for some years. The quality is very stable and acceptable, and the batteries are also in compliance with EU standard, IEC/EN60086 series safety standard and 2006/66/EC chemical directive and ROHS and REACH regulation and so on.
Anyway, import from China will be a good choice for you I think personally.

Listen everyone (Including China and India) please, this thread is DEAD.

The starter made one post and nothing else. Wasting time to keep adding new ones.

Sorry!

It's really a big problem to buy batteries from China, if your goods less than one container then you can not ship by sea. you also can mix other goods together into one container. If less than one container, should delivery by air and it's very expensive.

First test the efficiency of these batteries. No doubt, they are cheap but not durable and for shipment you may have to do lot of paper work.
