Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I tried to search for it - without any luck so far. :(

My supplier's terms are FOB. So I would need to arrange the shipping for a container. Is there some company which could deal with EVERYTHING from the port in Japan and literally bring it to my front step, that is deal with all the custom clearance, duty etc etc and just pass the bill to me?

The goods themselves are worth about
£15,000. Is there any additional cost that I have to bear in mind apart from VAT? :|

Thanks,

Zarah

If you google freight forwarders/transport frieght companies.... you will find lots of companies on there...
these companies would normally look after everything for you + give you advice on different aspect sof getting the shippment over.

Once you have used them, you will get an idea of what is involved.

Always looking for new products to sell, so if you are selling/wholesaling any products on - PM me.

I hope that helps

Hi Zarah,
You also have to think about the cost of you currency exchange. Are you getting the best possible rates and service. This can make a big difference to profits

I would get it independently insured. A work colleague had a container disappear whilst shipping it from HK (local mickey mouse company). When he checked out the insurance which came with the container shipment is was completely fake. Everything gone and no hope of finding it.

Please also check what FOB actually means in your specific case. Terms can alter and you may be left with a far higher bill.

Doing the customs clearance yourself will save a load of dosh. In my experience the only companies that can arrange clearence in Japan AND in the UK are those that have offices in both countries.

A google search should help, i quickly found excess-baggage . c o m
