I'm selling my kids party website + stock and was just asking if anyone know if BusinessesForSale com is a good place to sell? Or any other places that you might know of?

i have heard some bad things about business for sale dont want to reapt but if you do your own digging you might find some stuff.

how come you have deceied to sell up?

I don't have the time that I need to spend on it anymore. I have two little ones and the time is just not enough. I have enjoyed the website though building it from scratch and it is doing well after 3,5 years. Might do something similar in the future when kids are bigger.....

Thanks! I know it is a good site but I don't have the time anymore to spend on it to make it better. I have spent a lot of time to get it up on google left hand side and it's doing pretty good..

To be honest the key terms that it is ranking for will need looking at as these are not very fruitful compared to others.

Think about putting an NDA in place before speaking to people as this will protect you when discussing the business with people to some degree.

you could try selling the site without stock on sedo or acorn - the search volumes might attract some interest?

Key terms aren't bad in my opinion - I have two kids sites on page one with much lower volumes for main key terms and they would justify £5,000 anyday?
The party theme is, however, restrictive in terms of average order value but it definitely has some value to someone.

can you give a little more info:

- daily unique visits
- Current T/O & profit
- What you spend on marketing

Exactly why an NDA may be needed figures lke the above are obviously something that the OP will not want to share with the world until she has some genuine buyers etc

Still selling my website...Has anyone heard of Flippa.com. They are suppose to be quite good to advertise your website on but when I look at it it is mostly American businesses? Any advise?

Extremedistro....Always pipes up on these type of threads, asking for prices, t/over etc.

What I want to ask is: Do you ever go further than a post on a thread?.
Have you ever bought a business from here?
Do you run a business or businesses?.

And if you can answer yes to any of the above, would care to divulge any information to us?

Or is it just hot air and bluster?

Regardless of the forum or participants you can always guarantee that whenever someone offers a website for sale you'll always get at least one joker asking for t/o, uv's and sales. I've even seen it when the site has been offered at £100?

I always think - 'tyre kicker'

(Of course, there are other words which begin wit T!) :)

I am a naturally Cynical man, probably the worlds most Cynical man.

And I don't suffer fools gladly, so constant attempts at being a "dragon" by forum participants really gets my goat!.

Even more so, when the only "help "they give is asking for vital stats on websites, without ever following it up with a "I've Bought that" it fitted my criteria!....:rolleyes:

I'd suggest listing it on Flippa, I believe that 30 - 40% of sites listed there, sell. It gets a lot of visitors from the UK as well as the US. The listing fee is only $19, so if it doesn't sell, that's all you will have lost. If it does sell you will have to pay a percentage of the selling price.

You might also have a look at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52 where it's free to offer your site for sale.
