Hi I'm a web developer and I just love creating websites.I want to create a free job posting website. Should I need to register it as a company? or can I create it and just put it to live directly?

Because the competition is spending huge amounts on marketing. Your site won't even appear on the radar.

I think that your job posting website can be a success. You should put the website live and see how it goes, so you know if it will be profitable or not. You don't necessarily have to put huge amounts on marketing. There are many ideas like yours that succeeded without spending huge amounts on marketing. However, you should have an effective marketing strategy to reach your target group. Google Adsense is a good start. But make sure that you do a research about what keywords will be best.

Thank you for the advice. Is it correct to just create this kind of site and put it to live without any legal permit or maybe a business permit or something?

@TheConsulter I am sure you are trying to help but you keep giving people rather bad marketing advice on these forums

On what basis do you think the OP's job posting website can be a success?

Why do you feel in a highly competitive marketplace he won't need to invest in marketing it.

Why are you suggesting he invests money in Adsense when you don't even know if he has a product that's worth promoting?

@derick813 if you just like building website and have the skills and knowledge to set them up properly why not approach some local charities and offer to help them for free.

It's your decision as what you do with the information you get on this forum. You will get those who are direct and have seen so many ideas similar and are quick to gun you down. There are those who will give you a glimmer of hope with a supportive suggestion. Then there are those who will give you a bit of both. It's all perspective so my advice would be to look at business ideas from different perspectives as you may find something positive in them all.

My 2p on this would be in the experience of someone who posts on job boards all day. Do your research. The path has been walked so many times and there are those who've just done extremely well with the backing of financial powerhouses to bolster their marketing clout. However there is a little bit of room left for those kind of niche services.

For example, travel website, dating website etc... There are literally thousands out there offering the same thing just in different ways. However that didn't stop someone from stepping it up with a "Premium" service. The challenge will be encouraging the source of jobs to appear on your website. So if you can get your research done and your network is big enough full of recruiters you might just get something going here....

For example travel has "Luxury" holiday providers... they knew the market was saturated with rich buggers so they only targeted a niche area of the market where they could charge the big bucks.

Then there's the dating industry, again millions of different scatter gun services. Then appeared the "Elite" dating and the "Professional" people dating services... Nailed it right?

So from someone who is in the game you're targeting my advice would be to grow your network on Linkedin full of recruitment consultants as many as you can get over a few months to a year. In the meantime build that kick ass premium service for the high salary roles? You may be surprised with the success of such an idea ;)

I want a credit or a glorified section just for me if you make it haha!

Good luck buddy!

1. His job posting website can be a success. There is a market for job posting websites and that means that money can be made. He might have an innovate idea that he implements on the website. Therefore, it's important that he tests how the website will do by publishing it.

2. Nobody has said that he shouldn't invest in it.

Yes, but you need to spend bucketloads on marketing.

If you want any competitive site to succeed you need to invest in marketing. The old days of launching and site and waiting for money to come rolling in have longs gone.

Yeah that's fair enough fisicx and you may just be right. But boy oh boy, he could get a decent wedge if he goes down the route I've suggested. He may even be able to make it noticeable enough to attract an investor or even a buy-out. We have no real idea of his financial circumstances at this point or even his network reach. I'm hoping he doesn't just give up on his dream because he doesn't have the capital to boost it's chances. For what I've suggested can be done with careful networking and patience.
