Chris P

I am about to start my own company and require a hosting company with all the tools to create and manage my site, i have been looking at 1&1 and they seem unbeatable but i am double checking as i am not 100% as its my first attempt

Many Thanks

will you be using ecommerce? Taking payments on line? If not I can offer you some free hosting that I use and it comes with all the tools to monitor and build a site.

These guys are brilliant google "UKHost4u". Their speeds are lightening fast and as is their support and prices are very good.

I've used Open Mind (a member here) for the past few sites I've built, and have been very happy with the prices and the excellent standard of customer service. Being a bit dim, I've had to ask loads of stupid questions and Phil has been very patient at answering them :)

That's me too. Very good for answering questions that to other people may seem simple & straight forward. Proper human customer service.

You're best to detail what your requirements are before anyone can recommend specific hosting.

Although basics such as security, uptime etc shouldn't be compromised, they probably will be if you're decision is based on price.

We host a few sites for members of UKBF and most recently mboon who was at 1and1 and im sure will vouch for their inadequate speeds, reliability and customer service.

I can honestly say dont use 1and1, we have just ditched them after a month, the long loading time of our websites was just too much and that was on a pro business package.

we rang them loads each time they applied a temporary fix, which worked...... temporarily.

once you have signed up they couldnt care less, our website was affected several times a day.

imagaine if that was a customer, they would just hit the back button!

I highly recommend CS New Media, member on here.

I used to be with 1and1 because they were so cheap but 1and1's customer service and support were both rubbish. CS New Media acknowledge receipt of your question/support ticket within seconds and very often your query is resolved within a matter of hours no matter what day of the week or time of the day - with 1and1 it took days for them acknowledge the support ticket and then more days to respond.

Hi Chris
We run a web hosting company. PM me your requirements and I will be happy to see if we can fit your needs. Our servers are in datacantres with all security and backup services. I know a lot of companies do the same, it should be one thing you look at.

If you are looking to host a shop or just a portal I am sure we can supply what you need.
thanks
peter

Do you know at all what sort of requirements you have for your new site? i.e. how large or traffic intensive it may be? We can start you off on a starter package for £35 p.a. PM me for more details.

I recommend iMarque www.imarque.com They have designed ours and we are doing another one with them now! If you mention Anna Shaw Associates have recommended them, they will give you 10% off web-site design and free 1 year hosting worth £150!!
