thought i would introduce myself as i have been using the site for quite a while for tips and hints,
myself nad my business partner run an internet based car and commercail leasing company based in glasgow.
i would be interested in hearing from any local internet geeks that can maybe help me progress.

Yeah, I was referring to a rather large software development / business intelligence company. Everyone wanted our geeks

Gone are the days of 40 years ago when schoolkids taunted the smart ones as being geeks. At least in my circles.

No reason to get upset when a potential customer calls you a geek. They are signalling that they don't have clue what you actually do and in effect asking for a 25% surcharge to be added to their bill.

Hi,

I would strongly recommend you to get listed on Google+ Local.
You can hire a SEO company to do this or you can do this yourself after some research.
A simplified version of your Local SEO campaign would be:
1. Add a listing to Google+ Local
2. Optimise your listing
3. Get positive reviews
4. Get citations

A Google Adwords campaign should work as well
