I'm launching a self-funded UK consumer app/community platform and I'm trying to be sensible about legal spend before the initial pilot.
I've done a lot of the regulatory groundwork myself using ICO and Ofcom guidance and I'm not looking for a law firm to take over the entire project or put me onto a large retainer.
What I'm looking for is a solicitor who is comfortable reviewing individual pieces of work on a fixed-fee basis — for example Terms & Conditions, Privacy/GDPR, consumer subscriptions and Online Safety Act requirements — rather than quoting £8k–£10k+ for a complete startup package.
Has anyone here launched a UK app/platform and found a solicitor or small firm that was happy to work this way?
I'd particularly appreciate recommendations from founders who've actually used them, and an idea of what you paid if you're comfortable sharing.
Thanks!
