I know nothing about websites and how to promote them. However, I do keep fish and had a look at your site yesterday just out of interest.

Since your other thread has, I think, been deleted, I can't remember the address. I can't point now to specifics but what I do remember is the way your home page was written. There were far too many typos and formatting errors. As a potential customer, that's an immediate sign to go somewhere else.

Not everyone can write copy - I couldn't - so it's important you get someone who can.

That is what you need to begin with ... after that it is just a case of using a combination of on-site and off-site activities. I am responsible for our entire network of sites aside from making sure the heading tags and titles contain keywords, image alt tags are present and relevant etc. and we employ the following techniques to boost our sites: Regular fresh content, article distribution, search engine submissions, social networking (Facebook.com, Twitter.com etc), social bookmarking (digg.com, stubleupon.com, etc), free directory submissions (Yell.com, FreeIndex.co.uk, etc) - and of course we plaster our URLs on everything we can! Most of these activities are free and can be done whenever you get five minutes ... remember, seo is an ongoing process so whatever you decide to do, you need to keep doing it and do it as often as you can.

All social media links will help, but you also need to be prepared to keep those social media sites updated and active, just as you need to keep the content on your website updated and relevant. While social media backlinks help, in my opinion social media is really far more useful for building product/brand awareness/loyalty and driving traffic to your website.

As a few people have posted already, getting good organic rankings takes time and requires you to try everything. There is no one magic bullet to shoot to top rankings (at least if you want to stay there very long).

What a massive area, but to name a few...

Submit a sitemap to google webmaster tools
create a blog on your site
DO NOT duplicate anyone's work as search engines dont like it
compose unique and more importantly relevant content relating to your site's keywords
post videos on youtube with your web link
offer something free so you stand out
write articles as these get cited and referenced across the web
avoid submitting to web directories (not worth the hassle)
title each page carefully. make it relevant and different to the last
dont have too many images on your pages
ensure your keywords appear at the top of your page
create accounts in social media - facebook, twitter. However be warned you need to keep these posts updated. simply having the link isnt enough
Oh yeah nearly forgot, BE PATIENT

Yes. Do a press release, bang it about online and offline. Back that up with one or a couple of decent landing pages and make sure your site is prepared properly so that you don't put people off when they get there.
