How can I make £1000?

This thread is just one of those threads about "how do I make easy money". They come up here all the time. The OP will find that he will make a lot of friends when he askes strangers how to make easy money, but they are likely to be not the friends he wants to have. Use your initiative and get out there and assert yourself and observe the world. Observe your present surroundings and try to find out what people want to buy etc.

When I was 14 (this was back in about 49BC) I desperately wanted a tape recorder. The cheapest cost 14 guineas (i.e. £14:14:0d) so I bought myself a bucket, sponge, leather and polish went door-to-door, cleaning cars for 5/- each.

59 cars later, I could buy my tape recorder.

Yep that's the way to do it.

Today people want to acquire money:

1. Quickly
2. As easy and pain free as possible

Still the most safest way is to 'get off yer arse' and *do* something.

Learn a skill fast.. and sell it online.

In your evening... sit and learn Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator... and become a low budget designer.... (Free trials of software available)..

There are a million free tutorials... google is your friend... learn anything.

Once you're up to speed:
- Make animation templates and sell on videohive.net
- Make animated stock video and sell on istock/shutterstock/videohive (you can't afford a good enough camera to film quality stock footage..)
- Try and provide the best graphic designed logos for people on 99designs.co.uk and earn money... great way to improve your skills but not necessarilly a great way to earn.
- Approach local businesses and offer poster designs for £30 a go.. and buy a template for $10... and update it with Photoshop.

Now... either the above will work and you'll achieve your £1000 goal... Or you'll fail but will have learnt some useful design skills that can be put to work throughout the rest of your life.

Admittedly it's taken me 15 years in the industry, and 5 years of study (Art College and Uni) to get rather good at it... but we all need to start somewhere.

Had a friend in university who spent more time trying to figure out how to scam than anything else. I think he netted about $4 an hour when he could have earned double that as a rag n bone man.

Stop dreaming, start doing and quit asking until after you've tried something. Guys with a bucket and sponge just doing car windshields make the kinda of money you're looking for every week, working a few hours each day and taking ample breaks for a wee beverage and a siesta.

I tell my teenager at least a half dozen times a week, "Look, think, look, then ask".

@tomweston I have a few options.

1. Let's start a partnership, if you send me your £400, I will turn it into £1500 way before summer. *no guarantees

2. Follow my simple steps to double up your money in less than 10 minutes, go to a cash point and withdraw the £400 in notes... fold your notes in half. Job done.

3. Sell food at your boarding school

4. Buy and sell rare pokemon

5. Charge to do homework

6. Charge to clean rooms

By the sound of it - you're all just jelous of the guy who wants to make money... innit!

Do a paper round! That's what I did while I was in skool... didnt do me n e favors like but at least I was able to buy some cigs...

Dont get me rong, I had a tough upbringin had no money in the family, we all had to pay our way, sometimes I went wivout food so as to be able to buy cigs, but it was fun... tough but fun... I remember one day Dad said to me "go out and fend for yourself" only because he didnt want feed me anymore, I was 8 and 6ft 2 - a rising basketball star for the Manky six - so I did, I went out wiv my bucket and spade and made castles for peple and charged them 50p to knock em down... I then realised I could be good at demolition or construction innit... so I thought I'd make a go in that industry - didn't last long... not many people wanted to knock the castles down... so I charged myself to knock em down... I ended up in so much debt... I had to go bankrupt... not a good thing at 8.

Chin up though... I'm sure youll think of something :D

It's a ridiculous question as he/she already knows the answer. OP, however you got that £400 do the same twice more and you'll have your £1,000 plus a couple of hundred spare for beer.
