Hi forum,
Well i guess this is the question that we all have to answer at some time if we have a website.

I am currently in the process of having my online business developed....it will be ready soon, so watch this space.

My question is where is a reliable place to host my site.
I am probably going to go for a dedicated server for a couple of reasons. One the traffic the site gets will hopefully be quite high, but also the amount of info and images on the site will be high.

If you could recommend any dedicated server providers it would really help......i don't want my site hosted with 60,000 other sites!!!

Thanks guys.

Michael Webb

PS i am currently taking advertising enquiries from automotive uk based businesses. If you are interested please PM me through this forum.

It'd make sense to go for a hosted service to start with - then if you do reach the traffic levels you expect then you can move to a leased/dedictaed server.

If you host with someone like FastHosts then, yes, you will be sharing the server wit 60,000 other sites.

However, if you go with someone like http://www.matrixxhosting.com/ then itll be a lot less per server.

If you really want to go the dedictaed server route, www.servermatrix.com areOK if you don't mind the server being in the states. But personally I think it makes more sense to buy a server and have it co-located in the UK.

Hope that helps!

Hi Michael,

There are a few hosts on the forums - some UK based some not - if you want to give me a call I'd be happy to go through your needs and see if I can help - if I can't I'd be happy to point you in the best direction.
