Holidays or no holidays

Will people be going abroad of staying in our beautiful country visiting other places? What would you prefer?

Been abroad to Wales a few times. And to England.
May try next holiday just driving north for a bit then finding somewhere to stay then repeat. If I can find a place hiring out the right spec motorhome.
If not may buy one and get it converted.

I am going abroad in about seven weeks time.

One of the big differences between holidaying overseas and in this country is that the hospitality industry abroad is there to serve you whereas far too often in this country the hospitality industry gives the appearance that the customer is there to serve them

I usually go abroad twice in a year and then have another holiday in the UK. I feel much more relaxed on a holiday abroad then I do in the UK.

Holiday rental business is strong in Wales, would have been stronger but for Covid, factor in Brexit ( ( anyone remember that...) Once it settles down I see a price rise on the horizon.

Think rental apartments and cottages/houses will do well this year more than hotels. Also camping, caravans will do well. A luxury mobile van be great

We have about 8 camp sites on our books and all are shut and a lot intend to remain closed until next year. Rental cottages are strong and getting better, loads of our clients back on the phone this last week or so but not heard about hotels or B&Bs yet. Would imagine they will be slow to take off.

That's good to hear Mitch and hope you do well. But surprised about camping being open air and spaced apart. I suppose it's right thing to do. Still losing money though. Hotels are going to struggle but hope to get back to some type normality.

I'm in travel industry...inbound and outbound. We estimate the UK market domestically will be good this year. For us, this is only a small part of our self drive tour business - we need the overseas market to make our money.
As for our outbound business....well, who knows. We specialise in tours so don't do regular beach holidays. I'd estimate 2021 before we see any decent business. Whether I survive or not, that is the question

From the pictures on TV and news it would seem the under 35-40's have little thoughts about catching the virus as they are happy to mix with all, see pictures of beaches and yesterdays pubs and Soho, so likely to have a holiday abroad this year , whilst the 40Plus more likely to miss the holiday and stay at home and save money

I enjoy the work I do but I would swap Cullompton Devon for a Greek beech any day

Greece doesn't have any decent beaches. Cornwall does and so does Devon.
