HMRC: New Company Details

Hi,

You know on the "New Company Details" form, at part 18 it asks for a copy of the company's memorandum and articles of association - then you tick to confirm that these are enclosed.

I did this with my last company and it was a bit of a pain posting the bunch of pages etc. Is this required? I remember reading somewhere on UKBF that it isn't required and HMRC will get the docs from Companies House if needs be?

The main reason is that I don't have a working printer right now and my friends printer which I've been using has just been drained out of ink. *Very* tight on money right now to keep things going, so can't afford printer or ink just right now to print these off unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks very much for your offer - I really appreciate that. I'll have to decline though, I can't be putting you out of your way like that

I can afford to print if necessary but I'd rather put off buying a new printer if it's possible. If I have to, I'll go ahead and buy a new printer or just ink for a friends printer (I owe them that anyway after using it recently!)

So does anybody know if it's allowed to be missed out? I've searched but can't really find the answer. I'm sure I remember seeing somebody mention it around here. I'll keep searching.

I don't send them, and I've never had the Revenue come back and ask for them. I'd be willing to bet that they are never read anyway. Just a waste of paper and money to send them in.

Yeah so I'll just leave them out and not tick the box?

If they want them, they can ring me, send a letter or contact companies house.

I can't imagine they keep all of these paper copies in boxes or something when companies house has digital copies.

It doesn't explicitly say that these are necessary anyway!

If nobody comes along and says that I'm going to die a sudden death unless I include these documents before tomorrow afternoon, then I'll send without
