HMRC and Tax Avoidance

I have just noticed that HMRC have a whole series of pages covering tax avoidance. None of them are actually about tax avoidance, they are about tax evasion.

You would think HMRC, of all people would know the difference!!!!!

I'm guessing it's on purpose: to lead readers into thinking they are one and the same.

Most of those pages are about marketed schemes though, disguised remuneration and the like. That is avoidance rather than evasion, they just don't hold up when HMRC tests them.
