Hey guys,
I say an intro, I was actually registered and a semi-frequent poster on this forum what must have been around 13 years ago. I could probably find that account, but I may cringe when I see the posts. I was working at the hospital as a housekeeper trying to find a way to work for my self, like many on here start of.
Well I'm now at the ripe age of 33, and have been self employed for the last 10 years. I've had businesses / stakes in events & festivals, travel, restaurants, e-commerce and probably a couple of other things (and about a dozen ideas / concepts which never made it past the starting block)
While I haven't hit it 'big' or made £100m I'm still fortunate that my self employed income provides for me and my family and I've have had some great experience, fun and hardships along the way. (An international student travel business which operated across 6 cities wasn't the one during covid & then Brexit, let's just say).
Hopefully I can provide some kind of value and engage while continuing to learn. I am about to head in to the trenches with a start-up which I'm sure is the £100m ticket, after having mostly 'brick and mortar' style business or being dependent on a small pool of people (local events, festivals etc) I'm looking forward to building a national D2C brand.
It's a bit of a way off, but it's being around 18 months process to get us this far. It's in the health / wellness space, and I'm sure I can share some info about it soon... but I shan't jump straight in to seamless promotion.
