Hello, I carry out maintenance work and on occasions have been asked to supply materials too. I currently offer a 1-year workmanship guarantee with my work but would like to offer a guarantee for the materials too. Does anyone know how this works? Would the guarantee be supplied by me or my supplier? and is it possible to change the amount of time something is guaranteed for? eg if something is guaranteed for 5 years when I purchase it but I decide I would like to extend the guarantee to 10 years, can I offer a 10-year guarantee? and vice versa, if something I supply comes to me with a 10-year guarantee but I only want to guarantee for say 5 years, am I allowed to shorten the manufacturer's guarantee?
Ideally, I'm looking to offer a supply and installation services with a flat 5 or 10-year guarantee across all of my services and materials but some products I use have a guarantee of only 1-year and some for 15 years
Any help would be much appreciated
