Help with Choosing a shop

Hi, we currently use ECWID.com for our website shopping cart, however due to limited features; we are in need of a replacement shop.
We offer support contracts which can be purchased from our current shop, the support contracts offer different levels of cover to the customer and the price is calculated based on the level selected within the shop product. So we need a replacement shop that can allow you to have additional options within a shop.
An easy example of this would be, if we where to sell Shoes,
You could have a Nike Show, when the customer selects the shop they like, they then select the size and the price is adjusted depending on the size selected.

I have had a look at osCommerce but can’t seem to get this feature fully working how we like.
We would then need to pay someone to match the shop theme into our current website so the customer sees it as one website.

Could someone please help us in 1, selecting the correct shop to use, and 2, create a theme to match our currrnt site.

I would recommend cs-cart.
No links to them, just a happy customer..

www.cs-cart.com

I bought mine from martfox.com which seems to be the cheapest reseller of this cart
they sell the licence for 165 euro / £145

A huge range of great features, I spent a good while evaluating carts and this for me came out on top.

you can try a demo at http://demo.cs-cart.com/professional/ and a demo admin panel at demo http://demo.cs-cart.com/professional/admin.php

you can download a 30 day trial to put on your hosting space at http://www.cs-cart.com/trial.html

Couldn't agree more, cs-cart is an absolutely fantastic ecommerce solution which has remained fairly low key over the years but has a massive number of features and is very easy to edit with a little html/css/php experience. Highly recommend.

Hi,

If you are looking for a ECWID alternative which would give you an easy route to switch out your ECWID add-in a solution with an alternative ecommerce solution which integrates in to your website, then ShopIntegrator will do exactly this and give you the additional features you are looking for.

The ShopIntegrator hosted shopping basket will allow you to copy and paste the auto generated script in to your pages to create the online shopping buttons, like Buy Now, Add to Basket, Checkout etc. and other in-page store features in to your web pages, e.g. in-page basket summary, multi-currency pricing. You'll be able to integrate a shopping basket in to your website in minutes, and you'll have the support you need to migrate from ECWID to ShopIntegrator as your replacement hosted shopping basket.

You will be able to have the exact feature you are looking for, the ability to create a product with product options/variants which adjust the price of the product on a per-option basis. Our hosted shopping basket demo page gives you a quick look at some of our ecommerce widgets in action and shows you what you are interested in, a product with multiple product options/variants which adjust the price of the product added to the basket.

You will easily be able to customise the look of your in-page shopping basket widgets to fit in with your existing website fonts, colours, button graphics to seamlessly integrate an online shop in to your existing website so your customer sees it as one website.

I hope you'll take a look at the ShopIntegrator website and feel free to PM me with any questions. If you did want to take a free trial, as a UKBF member, I'll double the standard 30 day free trial period to a 60 day no obligation free trial.

There shuld be a rule about companies pushing their wares in threads like this.
Hardly impartial recommendations...
This is a business forum as well as a forum for general discussion.

When a business who is a member is able to provide a service or offer a potential solution to someone's needs that could help them out, then the information is relevant. It is quite clear that my post is from a particular business and is easy for people to separate recommendations from business proposals.

Agreed, advertising does seem allowed for paid up members, but it certainly takes away from those just helping out and instead about self-promotion. Sometimes hard to pick good advice/info from all the ads. It certain focuses around hosting/design related questions though, so I just stay clear of most of them, which is a same, because then the OP doesn't benefit from member knowledge and experience.

We have now gone with Magento and paid a company £1320 to fully set this up for us on our server "Dedicated Server"

Been told should be up and running within 2 weeks, this also includes making the shopping cart look like our website etc.

We have submitted applications to the bank for Card Acceptance.

So goodby to the PayPal :) and ECWID

Ecwid did ok, but then we had alot of people say that they cant see our products due to them not having Java installed etc.

So Magento will be a good plus for us.

Hate to say this but we would have done that cheaper.

"Please PM Me This is something i specialise in, so please give me a PM."

Self-promotion? I'd say so! You've asked members to PM you a number of times in the past!

Hello,

If you’re planning to put up a shopping cart for your products or services, one of the first things you have to consider is finding the best e-commerce Platform, which will easily give you good storefront. The most important thing is making online transactions work, if customers have problem with your transactions they will not be satisfied might not visit your site next time. Content Management is also a feature which should be there. And as far as my choice is concern i recommend you vplanetcommerce which i think is the best ecommerce platform with best SEO which will attract more customers to your store.
They provide SaaS based e-commerce and ERP solutions based on vPlanet Commerce product

Thanks

I must say I agree with this. If the response is on-topic and it is made clear that the poster is not impartial then the information is still relevant to the original thread.
