Grievance issue

Hi

I am currently going through a grievance process where a grievance has been made against me.

There were 4 allegations of which only one has been upheld.

The one that was upheld relates inappropriate comments that I made to a colleague when we were having a discussion outside of work about other colleagues in our team. In the investigation I cooperated fully and agreed the comments were inappropriate and fell short of the values and standards of the company. The colleague who I was having the conversation with has left the business. During the grievance process I have been told not to have any contact with the reporter who reports into me. It's a pretty toxic atmosphere in the team since. The comments were about the aesthetics of females in the team.

I have the disciplinary outcome meeting coming up. I am confident that the outcome will be dismissal.

I would like to know what are my options and what is the best course of option. Resign before the outcome is read? Appeal or go down the legal route?

Thank you

    Speak to your trade union.

What legal route did you have in mind?

Bear in mind that this is a forum for business owners. You are unlikely to receive much sympathy here.

Resign before the outcome is read?
If you, as you appear to, accept you have been wrong and that dismissal is the right course of action for your employer to take, then maybe resigning before you are dismissed may be a reasonable option.

Appeal or go down the legal route?
If you think you have been unfairly judged then speak to your union, or if there is no union speak to ACAS, but again reading your message above you seem to state it's a 'fair cop' and perhaps take these lessons forward for your future employment.
