Google +1 Will this impact my SEO

I see this arriving on the horizon and get the basic principle. If someone likes your website they will give it a vote / tick of approval.

So what is the impact of this on my SEO. Should I be preparing to mobleise my client base and business network to all "click" on my +1 when it arrives. If they do will my ranking go up?

It would be great to get your thoughts.

Biggest yawn going. You're a saddo if you even bother thinking it's interesting. Motto do nothing.

Why would some spurious vote from some non entity make a difference? To make a real difference would take a real effort...the whole thing is a monitoring system to catch out spammers and wannabies who will be all over it like a rash, no one else even cares.

I also had an email about this +1 thing recently and am not sure what the best course of action may be to take advantage (if anything)...........

What people say about your site is going to become more and more important in the future so it's probably a good idea to get started. Even though it will take a long time to catch on outside of tech-savvy circles.

The important point here is what people say about you and who those people are - not what you say about yourself. This isn't something you're going to be able to manipulate - and the more you try the more you'll be shooting yourself in the foot.

Isn't the +1 now tied in with the google+ accounts?

It's all part of Word of the Mouth and the Internet
Interesting study put out by Google a couple of days ago here,
    http://www.google.com/think/insights/studies?sn=word-of-mouth-and-the-internet

    Just to add: The part of the study that intersts me most is where most Word of Mouth conversations are held;
    82% face to face
    11% on the phone
    5% Online

It will be interesting to see that same graph this time next year

LOL you have no idea about seo then.....
+1 will make a difference, here's why. It's done through your google account,so if you have a google account and use analytics and press the button on your own site, well it won't count.

By having to log into your google account it'll make sure the system can't be gamed too much. It'll also have an algo based on local business sites e.g let's say you're a painter in london,+1's from people in london(remember google has all the data from the google account holder) will been seen positively,a click from someone in the US will probably be worthless.

So you carry on not caring, maybe once +1 data is collected and the serps updates start being partly based on that data you'll change your tune.

Consider the fact google doesn't do things for nothing, they collect data, that's what they do and that data ALWAYS has a use.
If you consider someone looking for what you sell or service a non entity that's your opinion, google's will be different.

Clicking on all your pages from the same IP will be seen as a non vote,no one would realistically do that, the home page and maybe another page that is in the serps.

Google +1 is going to be big; and it is going to make a huge difference to your search engine rankings, not to mention your ability to monitor your business reputation amongst clients and prospective customers.

If you're running a wordpress website then I would suggest that you install the Google +1 plugin and let it run - DONT keep voting for yourself because Google will know it is your from your IP address. Let it work naturally
