Hi guys,

anyone here imports fruits/vegetables from EU and rest the Europe?

The veg appears to be getting through via the small importers but the big supermarkets seem to be having problems.
I'would guess that EU suppliers don't want to deal with them anymore and if your importing yourself you will have all the import drama but you will have more succes than the big companies

Reason I’m asking is I would like to explore sone options of importing
, I have some family and friends in Serbia who are producing cherry, apples, peppers etc plus Serbia is huge producer of raspberries and blueberries . I know lots of fruits and veg from Serbia ends up on UK market as I found out but it’s imported by Dutch and Belgium companies who import all, they then do all sorting and packaging and its then sent to UK. Not many import directly to UK.

Research, research and more research, if similar items are arriving from elsewhere you will probably need price advantages. Also you will need quality buyers before importing, these items do not have long shelf lives. A huge warehouse with fork lift trucks and lorries with drivers. A massive stack of cash to fund the operation.
A very well P/L forecast will prove the potential,or not.
