Facebook username wanted

to be honest i would only be impressed if you showed us one of your clients with 1000 followers and a busy facebook page with interaction between those followers.

i'd then expect you to charge more than a fiver, but then it would be worth it!

at the moment, i see a fiver being wasted on getting a few random followers to a bland page that does nothing for promoting someones business.

you have to be social for social media to work, you gain followers by being social, it's very simple.

In all honesty I think it's too late now. You've shown such reluctance on this ridiculously miniscule promotion that it's bread cynicism and disbelief and probably turned most of us off. If it's so difficult to convince you to promote your own business I dread to think what it's like actually doing business with you - sorry, but that's just the way it is.

I may eat my words if someone on this thread suddenly gets hundreds of new followers...somehow I get the impression this is unlikely.

Silky

Ok when you consider i have had 3 sales from this thread already i would doubt anything is to late. The only reason i have offered the freebie is purely and simply to prove (even though 2 paying customers) have already fully approved and thanked us for the service we provide that our service is genuine. Although personally if i were genuinely interested in buying such a service i would be far more interested in what a paying customer has to say than a freebie.
For some reason that am sorry but i still dont get, In this thread the freebie would be taken to be MORE genuine??

Hi Esk
At last someone that actually makes sense to me.
This i can fully understand and appreciate where you are coming from.
When you take into account that all we are doing is providing the likes and do not run the business page obviously we have no control over how the Page Owner runs that page. All our business so far has been from people that know little of marketing on facebook. Obviously we advise on how to do this to the best of our ability but cant control it.
The £5 is more or less a trial offer that does not burst the bank account and also gets new Business Pages off the ground running.
The 25 followers can be targeted or not (buyers preference)
In the case of our business model you KEEP the fans by being social.

It's not the fact the promo is free, you said you couldn't persuade your customers to give testimonials - the promotion is a way around this to add credibility to your site. If you can't show us the testimonial of someone who needed a targeted following, find someone who needs a targeted following and exchange free followers for that testimonial. You're not giving away a freebie, you're buying a testimonial, credibility for your site AND convincing the cynics on here.

Nick - hope that tea's a bloody strong one!

What i would like to know is how bargain media can guarantee they will be signed up but can't be sure if they will unlike the page or not. How does he have the power to force these accounts to like the pages he suggests.

I can guarantee they will be signed up as you put it because that is how our system works. I cant guarantee they will not unlike as i am not running the business page nor am i the person who signed up.

The only way i can try to make you understand would be to think of a 3rd devision football. A footballer goes for a trial at various different teams and proves successful in every trial, every team wants him. But every team has to prove they have something to offer in order to keep him????

Now the player has an agent who got him all those trials????

I hope you understand what am getting at.

You can't off topic self promote on here. Yes your charity is sad, as all charitable causes are but there is a time and a place...
what is your problem with me ? how can offering a cup of tea be seen as self promoting my charity? It was getting heated again and I was trying to calm things down, Surely you telling me I am OFF topic is OFF topic, You have for some reason taken a dislike to my posts, have you been waiting for me to go off topic. ?? :|

Hi Esk
At last someone that actually makes sense to me.
This i can fully understand and appreciate where you are coming from.

What on earth is so difficult to comprehend about what the rest of us are saying? :| It's actually very, very basic marketing - not MBA stuff, but elementary marketing. You could have the makings of a popular business here or it could sit on the outskirts because your customers don't believe the hype. We are trying to convince you towards making it the former but are slowly losing the will to live on this.

In a nutshell:

- I need targeted followers.
- I do know how to market on facebook and twitter, they've proven very successful for us.
- I do accept that you can't guarantee all the fans sticking around, I would however be mighty suspicious if they all disappeared within a short time when our other fans have remained with us
- I haven't yet seen any proof that you can provide said targeted followers.

Depends on the nature of there business i suppose?

I can't think of any business that would prefer people who aren't their target market to people who are part of their target market...
As Silky said, facebook can be a great way of reaching people, and if you really can deliver 50 000 targeted fans, as shown on your website, for any business, no matter how niche or specific, you are on to a winner. However, I'm sure you can understand why business owners would want to see further proof that you could indeed do that, including an explanation of how you have such connections and how it works, for reassurance.

Probably because they have no idea who their customers are? ;)

Sorry, feeling decidedly jaded and cynical with all this now....bed beckons.

Silky

Not at all, it is someone who currently has over 200 fans and is interacting with people. I have picked very carefully because of this. They have been involved in this thread at some point every day from when it started so we feel that this is the right page to offer this to.

I honestly cant answer why someone would have that preference either but it is what it is.

If you had read through this very long thread Will which i know is now a pain lol. You would have seen me clearly stating that we do not offer 50000 targeted fans to any Niche. I will state again here and now that would simply be impossible. It would fully depend on the business targets.

What I meant was they don't know their customer profile, not they haven't met or spoken to them personally. Why else would someone choose not to target their following?

Silky

They understand there customer profile. I will gladly send you a pm and even tell you who i made the offer to so you can see what you think of there page or anything else??

I had a feeling that these people were forced to sign up from a previous deal where i presume they never looked very closely at the terms and conditions. :D

But at least they are real and not bots. You will probably do well out of this idea.

What????
Previous deal?
am sorry massey but i do not have a clue what you are going on about?
You think i have 50000 people signed up to some offer they know nothing about?
To be perfectly honest even that theory is beyond idiotic.
if you take into account that some pages are targeted you are talking hundreds of thousands of people?

I do yes. It's do-able.

Your breaking facebook guidlines though.

Lmao, ok Massey

Do you care to explain what guidelines we are breaking.
Bearing in mind btw that if we had hundreds of thousands of people signed up to some invisible offer we know nothing about, We would be very rich.

Alistair

Your breaking guidlines all over the shop. This is just a few..

  • Respect privacy
  • Don't mislead, confuse, defraud, or surprise users
  • Don't spam - encourage authentic communications

You did not quote any terms we are breaking?

Alistair

Well your spamming i think everyone agrees on that.

Also

You may only administer a Facebook Page if you are an authorized representative of the subject of the Page.

Your not a representative of the pages you force to like the people who pay you a fiver. Also does facebook get any of the fiver you charge?

It's a very grey area, and people know this. But don't claim your not breaking guidlines :D:D:)

Am not a representative of a page am an admin for?

It is only a grey area when people make it grey

But you guarantee x amount of visitors. So it's not free will it's you signing them up via third party dealings.

If you had originally said "yes i can get you some likes for a fiver not sure how many though" then it would be believable.

You then say they might leave. So how are you a representative of these pages.:|

Im getting a headache, maybe some one else can explain to me lol

So you think i should be doing this work as a free service?
You would pay £5 for 1 fan of your business page. Remember the 25 is a minimum. If i was to get you to Like someones business page Massey?
How am i supposed to make sure you dont unlike it at some point?

No I think that Facebook have started tightening up the rules around the use of the Like and Friend buttons. Businesses were selling and trading 'Likes' but that is being tightened up now I think.

Review the Ts&Cs on Facebook and Twitter because we got told off for running a competition on Facebook that involved people liking our page in order to vote on the best picture etc.

A minimum of 25 i see. I would not do it for free, but what im saying is if you emailed facebook and said is it ok to do this, you know as well as me they would say "erm no...".

We have already been in contact with facebook mate. Infact to a far greater extent than you would imagine, This is needed for the brand new selling experience that we are working on.

We are not offering anything to anyone for our service as way of any incentives so are not breaking any of the terms or conditions. Infact quite the opposite.

This is where offering it as a freebie enters a different territory which is why we had to check with our Facebook rep that this would be ok.

I don't see why buying Facebook fans is any different in its foundation to direct mail marketing or email marketing to be fair to Bargainmania - both forms are used very widely in business to spread awareness and both can bring returns IF the mailing or promotion is closely targeted (going back to my original and oft repeated point). In fact segmentation and targeting is essential for any advertising and promotion if you don't want to waste your hard earned dosh.

If Bargainmania brings us the targeted leads, as long as these genuinely meet our requirements, then it's down to us to convert these - he's not offering us business, just the audience. On a cost per fan comparison, the price stacks up well against email marketing, but like all these forms of promotion we can't expect every single one of those fans to jump at our offering. Direct mail / email marketing would bring in somewhere around 5-10% respondents if they're from a bought-in database and the communication is handled well, if we can expect a similar return from the Facebook fans then the service has definite merit.

There are scores of businesses out there offering Twitter followers, I haven't come across so many offering Facebook fans although it's a natural progression. If it's genuine (and hopefully we'll see a testimonial from a targeted audience on that today?) then it's an obvious service that has the potential to do well if marketed correctly.

Good morning all. Alistair has worked his magic again. Over 1,100 likes. Now I have to try and keep them :)

That's great. Looking at your facebook page though there seems to be very little interaction. How much have these "likes" increased your donations and/or enquiries?

I know you'll probably say it's increased awareness, but I'm not convinced that's the case if people are just going to the page, clicking "like" and then probably leaving without even reading it, as Alistair said this is how the "system" works.
