Does anyone know if you are allowed to conduct face to face job interviews at present? I am currently recruiting new staff for two of my shops which are due to re-open on 12th April. I know it is possible to conduct via Zoom etc. but I would prefer to meet someone in person with social distancing, masks and using screen around counter to keep us safe. In any event any new staff will require training prior to taking up the role before re-opening which can only be onsite. Have done a quick search online but seems to throw up a lot of out of date info.

Yes you can. Just need to wear appropriate PPE, sanitise and keep socially distanced.

All sorted now, it was easy to whittle down the unsuitable applicants and selected only the ones who ticked all my boxes and carried out face to face interviews with appropriate safety measures in place, two new members were successfully recruited. Thanks for all the advice, including the yard Jeremy!

I recently left recruitment

We found clients had a mix of approaches and it depended upon the role. If the job is a telephone based role and will be conducted remotely initially then zoom/teams/googlemeet was considered fine,

For roles that needed to be done in the office/factory then a f2f interview under the same conditions as they would encounter doing the job made sense.

Only caveat would be if someone couldn't for self isolation reasons you would have to be prepared to adjust your plans

Business meetings have been allowed with suitable precautions - i was under the impression an interview is a "business meeting"
