Can you please tell us what the minimum time for this is please as we are looking at taking someone on for a week as a trial. We only need this for a week for a work experience student but we can only get quotes for a year!
You may not need it -

In most cases you will not need employers liability insurance for volunteers or those who are:

- Unemployed people involved in training programme's.
- Students on a work experience.
- Unpaid, short-term interns."

I beg to differ on what you do need Employers Liability Insurance for and one of them is work experience students as I understand it. Of course you could take a chance but then again would you really want to end up on the wrong end of a legal lawsuit
The link that you provide says that you do not need employer's liability insurance for students on a work experience programme. Given that the link you provide disproves your statement, where does your understanding come from.
