I want to send out parcels countrywide from one location to addresses all over the UK. I would like pick up, max 3 day delivery, trackability would be nice but Im not too fussed, basically a door to door. Parcel size about 35cmx35cmx35cm, approx 15/17kg. At the moment only about 20 a month, but should be a couple of hundred a month by summer. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Thanks Nigel,
in fact I'm looking for a parcel delivery service, not a courier service.
(I'm paying about £15 a parcel, eCouriers quote £189!)
Thanks anyway,
Matthew

Hi,

Try calling Kevin at Third Arm Logistics - he found us a very cost effective solution - saved us loads - eg; last month we spent £99 sending 3 parcels, but after speaking with Kevin, we managed to send 17 parcels for about £140 - tell him Lucy at Redwelly passed on his number - 01254 56557

If its less that 2Kg you will find it hard to beat Royal Mail at your volume.

Special delivery - Next day before 1pm, signed for, insured (£250??) and traceable (Just about)

Or First Class, much cheaper and usually get there in 3 days!!

http://www.parcel2go.com/ - best thing since sliced bread

Have you ever had a problem with them? If anything goes wrong then you will quickly change your mind! I used them religiously but they once damamged a parcel and here I am 8 months later waiting for a decent response from them. I did use them a couple of other times just incase the other one was a one off and if anything goes wrong they promise to call you back but never do. I now only use them for international deliveries only because they are way cheaper than anything else.

For UK deliveries I recommend Interparcel. They actually have customer service!

I haven't yet expeirienced any problems with them, but haven't used them that much up until now. My reason for using them was the amazing value they offer over other similar postal companies.

It depends how you look at it really, but the low cost could compensate for the odd mishap in the long run.

I'll have a look at interparcel's rates, thanks for the tip.

Thanks Nigel.

Yes we can provide a parcel delivery service for you.

Please feel free to e mail us or call when you are free to discuss how we can meet your requirements.

I'd call Parcelforce and set an account up with them. We send stacks of parcels out and have used several different companies in the past. Parcelforce seem to be working out pretty well.

Another option is http://www.interparcel.co.uk

They have been good for ad-hoc stuff

Hope they don't take as long to deliver as you did to answer this post.

It's NINE years since this thread was last posted to, please take care to check dates when posting - a lot of members find it really annoying when old threads are resurrected in this way.

DPD have an offer on at the moment ....via Parcel2Go (though I reckon there's a bit of a courier price war going on & it may well run for a while), for that parcel size weight £5.99 inc VAT - it's a one day service trackable (with notification by text of 1hr delivery slot)

Would have thought you could get a contract with DPD etc. with that amount.
