Detecting proxy settings

Hi...

I am experiencing a slow connection to the Internet. When I open my IE7 my home page (our website) takes a while to upload and in the bottom left hand corner it says "detecting proxy settings" and then the page uploads. This only seem to happen when I log on as the Administrator (XP) but other accounts are quick.

I suspect the browser is trying to connect to the ISP server but is there a way of bypassing the "detecting proxy server" to make the page upload quicker?

I am with Bulldog by the way...

Thanks in advance

I hate to see a grown man cry.

WIthout wishing to state the obvious...

Have you checked the Proxy Server settings for the administrator account and compared them to the settings on the users accounts.

In IE, look under Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings.

It could be that the users have the correct proxy server set whilst the administrator is set to "Automatically Detect Settings", or something similar.
