Hi,

I have a small e commerce site which I intend on closing as it doesnt make enough to warrant the time..

I was thinking as its in google, has some inbound links and bit of pr that someone may want to buy it purely for its seo value.

Any comments anyone.

You might get some people interested if you can show what traffic you are getting. Being placed on search results are one thing, but getting relevant traffic is another. Do you have Analytics installed on the website?

Perhaps stick some AdSense on it, wait till it generates some income then sell it for a multiple of the revenue it generates? I did this with an ecom site a client no longer wanted and it brings in about £150 a month with zero effort.

Good domain name for a brand ,so could be developed into quite a usefull site.

you've already tried selling that site here. I asked you if you had any offers and you didn't even reply.

Hi,

do you think £600 is fair ?

I don't think you will get that while the site doesn't work. I just get a Preview Error.

You get 150 uniques per day? What sources are they from?

Have you tried putting Adsense on and seeing what it makes?

You might be hard pushed to get £600 without any revenue proof and a site but you can stick it on Flippa and try.

opps,

try www first.

non www is used to login to the backend.

95% of traffic comes from google.

You should sort that ;)

I must admit I don't think you will get £600 based on 150 uniques per day only.

Whack Adsense on it as said before :)

short easily remembered domain names have value, using something like "gooly" for a brand name could be developed.

150 uniques a day selling the right product can be a nice little earner.IMHO

You have to remember that those 150 uniques per day will be related to that site's keywords.

If you rebrand to sell something else, those uniques will go.

Best off using Adsense / EPN for revenue and keeping the pages ;)

You can buy a pair of jeans for 4 quid in Tesco or several hundred elsewhere.:)

Not necessary to change the key words just the value of the product in many cases.

Not much meat in Adsense IMHO.

My point was if he was going to rebrand all of his current keywords will be Sewing related so if you changed the site away from Sewing you would lose the uniques over time anyway unless you kept the site sewing related.

well as the site has had so little SEO done to it ,and bearing in mind the synonoms .There is unlikely to be a problem.

Can the 8k a year be proven? is it being sold as a complete business package and not just a domain with some web hosting?

8k a year from a website that isn't fully optimised and isn't looking that great is a good bit of dosh, especially as you don't seem to be putting any effort in to it at the moment.

Are those 150 UV/day current? SEMRush, for example, shows only a smattering of Google Search visitors. Presumably you're looking at something like awstats?
