DDP to USA

Does anyone have a handle on sending goods DDP to the USA. Does the amount of duty payable vary from state to state? If so does anyone have a list of what the typical duty rates are for each State?

Import duty is federal and does not vary state-to-state like local sales taxes do. That's info from my main US customer.

Duty free limit is way higher than the UK, at least for some goods, so what is a typical shipment value? There might not be any duty to pay.

I have noticed that sometimes if we send a shipment of say $600 there is not duty. WE send a range from a few hundred $ to maybe 10K $. Was thinking about doing DDP across the board to try and boost sales.

The duty threshold for the US is $800, IIRC.
