Commercial property use

Hi guys. Does anyone know if I can use my industrial unit as retail premises so that customers can walk in and buy goods without having to change the property classification?

We had a warehouse and wanted to do retail from the unit

We contacted planning office and they suggested we apply to have a trade counter permission that they can agree at no cost to us

We sent in a letter requesting this; and had one back about a month later giving permission

Does trade counter permission have a planning code?

I don't know we just wrote the letter and received a reply, so never put in for a change of use through the normal channels

That’s interesting as that’s very much a ‘shop space’. I wonder if it has to do with percentage of the space used though. Our showroom will be 2/3 of our space (excluding shared foyer & kitchen etc), workshop the remaining 1/3 . Sorry for jumping on your thread RO AV!
