Without being party to the conversation and not being in possession of the entire facts you just as well ask what you are holding behind your back.Nope. All wrong so far. You're missing the clues.
I don't know why I waste my time on idiots like you? Here’s a challenge...
I’ve just taken a ‘phone call from a salesman of a well-known appliance retailer from whom we bought an upright freezer last year.
He wanted to sell me an extended warrant. During a brief but friendly conversation I explained that I was perfectly happy with the freezer and their service, but wasn’t going to go for a warranty because I prefer to wait until an appliance expires, then buy new.
He politely thanked me for my time and the call ended.
What should he have said ?
If he can hold it behind his back he should win any willy measuring game by default.Without being party to the conversation and not being in possession of the entire facts you just as well ask what you are holding behind your back.
So I'm not going to play the willy measuring game and I'm out![]()

Depends on the Warranty. New for old or bodged repair?
The hardest part of any sales job is getting to speak to the decision maker. Depending on his remit, he should have asked if you were looking to upgrade or purchase any other domestic electrical items.
But that isn't HIS job so what'd be the point in his asking that question?I was waiting for you to come along with the right answer...
"Are you planning to replace any of your other appliances in the near future?"
But that isn't HIS job so what'd be the point in his asking that question?
So with respect we didn't have all the information we needed did we. He just as well ask you when you'll be buying a suit next as that also isn't his job![]()
I am not getting into a petty argument sorry, you can bait and troll as much as you like with trying to tell me what my position is, but I think it's safe to say that I have made no more assumption of it NOT being his job than you did of it BEING his jobHow do you know what his job is? I don't either, but this is the information I gave you...
1. He represents a well-known appliance retailer.
2. I am a happy, existing customer.
3. We're having a friendly conversation.
4. I've told him that I prefer to buy new rather than repair old.
It presented a golden opportunity to ask the question - either for his own purposes or to pass the information to a colleague.
So, either your position is:
1. I had thought of that but rejected the thought on the grounds of assuming, without any evidence, that it wasn't his job or
2. I didn't think of it.
Occam's razor.
Pax ?I am not getting into a petty argument sorry, you can bait and troll as much as you like with trying to tell me what my position is, but I think it's safe to say that I have made no more assumption of it NOT being his job than you did of it BEING his job
I am going to nominate you for the award this week as self acclaimed mind reader as you claim to know what others are thinking, what their mental position is and even what their total job description is.
Any chance of 6 random numbers from 1-59 please![]()
