I think if you was aware of a few facts related to W.H.O and China, you will understand where Trump is coming from.
Trump haters (and I'm not suggesting you're one) sometimes cannot see the truth, even if it hits them in the face.

Whoever advised them to do this does not understand the seriousness of this virus.
It's a scandal and the decision makers should (and hopefully will) be sacked from their positions when the current situation is over, or preferably now.

Had an email to a link with some interesting ideas. Apparently this group is often low in Vit D. Vitimin D strengthens immunity.

With all the worlds Health services crying out for PPE, no individuals are to blame for the shortage, there has never been a similar demand for such basic items.
This is not helped by Trump making all US registered companies like 3M making all their range for US use only regardless of where the company is located
As someone who was in the medical uniform supply, over the years it changed the nurses uniforms from long sleeve to short sleeve due to the pressure to keep washing hands, hence aprons rather than gowns
Lots of thoughts goes into 5D equipment suppliers and protection against Russia, but apparently little on monopoly's of single country medical supplies

Take your pick who to blame.
I blame them the structure and all at the top making decisions, whether politically motivated, ignorance or inexperience in global purchasing.
UK are the only 'leading' European country to be 'left behind' with PPE stock.
Don't defend the indefensible.
It's a scandal.

You should all read today's Sunday Times. The condemnation of the government's handling of this crisis is total and complete. It cites instance after instance where the government did nothing. It sat on its hands and did nothing for five whole weeks whilst the PM was celebrating Brexit and fighting legal and personal battles with his family and ex-wife who is ill with cancer.
He did not attend the first five COBRA meetings on the subject but instead spent time on holiday with his new lover. Five weeks afterwards on March 2nd he attended his first COBRA meeting on the subject.
The one fact that stands out (from a list of DOZENS of major failures to act) is that the British Healthcare Trades Association repeatedly contacted the government and the NHS with offers to manufacture PPE but was ignored until April 1st!
Their CEO Dr. Simon Festing "Orders went overseas instead."
That article shows that the government willfully refused to abandon the idea that C19 was just another type of flu and therefore could be largely ignored and a policy of 'herd immunity' could be adopted. It was only when the deaths in Italy escalated and the death rate doubled that yet another COBRA meeting was held on March 2nd which the PM attended and some sort of action plan was initiated.
The key quote from that article - "Boris didn't chair any meetings. He liked his country breaks. He didn't work weekends. It was like working for an old-fashioned chief executive in a local authority 20 years ago. There was a real sense that he didn't do urgent crisis planning. It was exactly as people feared he would be."

Too old to believe everything I read, also too old to do a simple search for somebody who is too lazy to do it themselves. You want confirmation then do it yourself. You don’t wish to believe major news sources, that’s up to you.
What I post and how is down to myself. Not sure what being an Ace has to do with anything, do you put any store in such things? I didn’t even realise I had that title until you mentioned it.

Gove also told the BBC's Andrew Marr the extra resources would be coming from Turkey "this weekend", along with another 25 million gowns, that were coming from China.
So far - nothing.

You have the opposite problem, healthcare workers listing the virus as cause of death when maybe it was not. Not sure how this ends, a lot of newspapers reporting events, pubs, etc possibly remaining closed for 6/12 months. Doubt few would re open if that turned out to be true.
Whilst any death is regrettable, are we actually seeing a real upsurge in true numbers of deaths, or are we being made to think there is? If there is such a huge pandemic, where do these health workers keep finding time to make stupid tic tok films?

Absolutely wrong. Week 14 saw well over 16,000 deaths when there are normally about 10,000 (England and Wales only).
A huge increase - far more than is being reported.

No, obviously not, but when you see 8/20 all in workwear, obviously at hospital premises doing stupid dances or screaming, it makes you feel they have plenty of time on their hands. Not necessarily all, but a minority.
Now there’s a question. It just seems strange that in my lifetime and experience nowhere in the world has to my knowledge ever shut everything down, for at least the last 100 years or more. If this carries on many people are probably going to lose everything they have worked their whole lives for, house, career, savings etc.
When you hear talk that pubs restaurants etc might remain closed 6 months or more, possibly a year or two, how many companies, even Governments, can afford that? I thought the new emergency laws lasting for two years seemed a long time, now gradually there is talk this pandemic could effect business as long if not longer.
We are still talking of a virus that has a mortality rate of 2 to 5%, depending on who you believe. If this virus is so bad, why are airplanes landing unchecked still? Is the cure worse than the virus?

I have no problem with people who do hard work to do silly things in there time off. If they are at work or not. People can't work constantly and need to blow off some steam and sounds like that is what they are doing.
As to your question - I have no idea - they should be doing checks on incoming flights, I expect they don't have the necessary resources to do it.

Here are the naked facts -
The death rate was over 8% in Italy.
The official figures for the UK are for hospital deaths only.
In week fourteen, there were over 6,000 deaths that were above the normal weekly average for England and Wales, of which just 2,800 were in hospital. The implication of that level of under-reporting means that we could already have about 35,000 deaths from C19 in the UK.
Get ready for a depression - world-wide. The scale of that depression is something nobody can answer.
Not everybody who dies is an old, decrepit, doddering, trembling wreck that drives a Skoda.
The UK will be especially hard hit because the UK government did nothing for five weeks, whereas other countries went into immediate pandemic actions that were planned, prepared and rehearsed well in advance.

Oil prices fell dramatically on Monday. The contract, which provides for physical oil delivery in May, fell to $1.02 a barrel. This is by far the lowest level of a futures contract since futures trading started in 1983.
On the one hand, this shows how strongly supply and demand currently differ on the oil market. On the other hand, it is a very special phenomenon, due to the May futures contract on US oil expiring on Tuesday.
The price development for European oil shows that the drop in the price does not affect the entire market: The North Sea variety Brent fell by 6.4 percent to $ 26.28.
Pockets of disaster like May futures for oil will be everywhere. I do not expect any car or steel production in the UK other than small pockets of specialist manufacture to survive this.
