What do you recommend for making international calling cheaper from REAL PHONES

We are all aware of Skype but what about company wide calling plans for real phones dialling outside the UK?

Thanks

There's hundreds of crappy little outfits selling cheap international calls - just google.

It depends a lot on whether you care about the call quality, whether CLI carries or not and whether the connection holds up. It also depends which international routes you mostly use.

(VoiP can use real phones, purpose built VoIP phones.)

O2 prepaid international tariff is v competitive for EU calls, especially when calling mobiles. I. E. From 2-3p/minute. You would think there is a monthly plan that can easily beat it, but I'm yet too find one.

Voipfone - are you aware of a better option, specifically to mobiles? Low usage, 200mins/month top...

For EU landlines, we use a Skype plan - £5/month, "unlimited", which is 10k mins I think.

I'm aware that there are many *different* options. There are also many ways to arbitrage - take one service from here and another from there etc. There are also many cheap, low quality services and there are services with seemingly low headline charges which work out high when you discover high minimum fees or charging per minute not per second.

But really, unless you're making huge quantities of international calls and you don't much care about call quality, find yourself a reliable provider with a good reputation and forget about it - there's no such thing as cheap - in the telephony world we all pay the guy in the other country the same rates, you're being charged for the difference somewhere.
