i need some suggestion and cheap. afther that i will try to find more information regardind to the service.

Worldpay Zinc could be an option for you. The card machine costs around £40. Then there are two options for you. If you pay a monthly fee, £5.99, the transaction fee will be 1.95%. If you choose the option with no monthly fees, then the transaction fee is 2.75%.

Watch out for Paymentsense, their card rates are good but they use First Data as card providers, who have a truly sh**ty contract, and charge the earth for "restocking" the terminal, and have a 24 month termination notification clause.

I'm not suggesting that other providers are better or worse, but do check t's & c's.

Can i also ask in do you think it is essential to have a card machine or could you get away with just cash to keep your outgoings down? Olivia xx

I think it's essential to have a card machine. If you only accept cash, you will exclude many customers. Customers that could inject cash into your business by buying. With regard to outgoings, of course there will be fees. But you will have to shop around to find the best deal.

When you think about card machines, think about transaction fees. You will see rates between 1 and 3% per transaction. Do you think it's worth to exclude a customer paying with a card for such a low fee. Let's say that you have a customer that buy from you for £10. Then the fee for you will be between 10p and 30p.

There might be people who don't think it's worthy of having one. Take for example an online business. They want an online payment gateway (payments taken online) and don't need a card machine as they don't do physical transactions.

If I understand you right, you want to open a cafe with your partner. In such a case, I would strongly advise that you use a card machine. Make it convenient for your customers. If they want to pay by card, accept that payment method. If they want to pay by cash, accept that payment method as well.

I opened a coffee shop just over a year ago and went with worldly as I left my card machine to the last minute to sort out, needless to say I got absolutely fleeced for the first while! I also found I was having major connectivity issues with the card machine I was given.

I'm now with payment sense as they offered to buy me out of my contract and beat all the rates I was previously on. As a previous poster mentioned if you do use them make sure you cancel their "re-stocking" service as you can get the printer rolls much cheaper on amazon.

With regards to your question about not having a card machine, we typically find Card to Cash sales are about 50/50 sometimes more in favour of card sales, just the way things are going.
