Can England Win Euro2016?

I doubt it, Rooney will probably start anyway.
Worst team we've had in ages in my opinion. The team we had 10 or so years ago should of won something, had the best defense, close to best midfield. Were just missing a left midfielder and striker.
Are a lot of decent young players coming through now though, went to watch Liverpool Bournemouth on Sunday, Oje and Ibe look shit hot. Obviously people like Barkley,Ali,Stirling,Kane aswell

Not a chance. Suits me I always bet against them and win money.(I bet them 2-1 loss against Italy and Uruguay; happy days)

Agree with @boring-friday . Regardless of form, Woy will pick Rooney and the other usual donkey's.
It's a shame because the younger players are showing a lot of flair and passion. Kane and Vardy up front with Rooney sat behind might be a decent up but my worry would be that Rooney would slow the pace down on the counter attack.
Despite our win against Germany, they had similar form prior to the world cup. The little teasers!

Wilshere just hasn't reached anywhere near the potential that he should have. Would still take Walcott though. Rooney should also be in the squad, but not starting.
Looking forward to Vardy inevitably getting sent off and that familiar surge of disappointment that comes with supporting England

I know the feeling.
It starts with excitement and a beer in one hand, and England flag in the other.
90 minutes later, the flag is on the floor, the beer is empty and you wonder where it all went wrong.

I am quite sure that Wayne Rooney will fulfill his role superbly as he use to perform in past. he will make an impressive and winning task and definitely help England to win this amazing event. Welbeck is also an amazing player i must say as he plays very selflessly and sincerely for the team and of course for the country.

Whoever posted that this is the worst team in ages clearly hasn't been watching us the past 5-6 years. WC 2010, Euro 2012 and WC 2014 we were absolutely woeful.
Walcott and Wilshere shouldnt be anywhere near the squad.
Rooney should go, but not start.
I would take Carroll. Put him on when a goal behind, stick the ball in the box and he will cause havoc.
Can we win it ? I don't think so, but I think we will perform a lot better than in recent tournaments

No room for Carroll and Walcott I don't think.
If you choose those over Kane, Vardy, Sturridge, Welbeck and Rooney then that would be a massive mistake. Granted Rooney hasn't had a great year but there's absolutely no chance Hodgson won't be taking him and rightly so - his experience is invaluable and he's still a top player. Welbeck works his socks off and Sturridge is a natural goalscorer. Walcott hasn't proved himself enough this season and whilst Carroll is very good at being a target man (which would have been enough in previous years), he shouldn't be chosen over better talent.
I'll be there in Marseille watching us rip apart the Russians (yeh right...) with my Harry Kane and Michael Parkinson masks in full force!

Well I meant player for player, obviously we do crap in all competitions. In 2010 we had IIRC Terry,Ferdinand,Lampard,Gerrard,Ashley Cole,Rooney who were all probably top 5 in the world for their position at the time.
Who have we got top 5 in the world for their position now? Maybe Kane just about, thats it and he probably won't even start

But then again, England have a good habit raising the old hopes and dreams, before the perennial disappointment and shattering of all trust after losing on pens to a better organised and slicker country.
I can almost hear the cries for 'more grass-roots football' or 'a culture of passing rather than long-ball' already..

i value your opinion and agree that Rooney should go but not the start. These are world best players in my opinion and they have potential to have a tremendous come back and prove themselves as great asset for the team

I wouldn't say they're a dark horse, they've had a very good team for a number of years now and should be aiming for the latter stages of the finals.

They have been ranked world number 1 for basically the last 18 months ( currently 2nd I believe)
Certainly ranked higher than any other team at the Euro's at the moment so I would say they have one hell of a chance......if not favourites

Exactly but they only played in quarter-final in 2014 and it was their best result since 1986. That's why I called them a "dark horse".

Fact is, they have a fantastic team with a lot of quality players. Just because they haven't reached far before doesn't mean they're a dark horse or outsiders in any way.
Plus it's fair to say that they've only been a good team since not long before 2014 anyway. A quarter final in a world cup isn't bad either (only losing to Argentina, a finalist)...
