Buying cheap bulk traffic

I have just received an email offering me cheap traffic in bulk. Where do these sellers get their traffic from in the first place? and is it detrimental to a site to buy traffic like this, and is it any good?

Don't waste your time or money. The list will likely be old names, harvested email addresses, or people who just clicked a link to say they'd like to receive offers etc.

In a nutshell the quality of the names will be poor and probably totally non-responsive.

Don't get pulled into the trap that having a website is all about traffic - it's not - it's about having quality traffic which want to know more, or are already interested in, your niche.

Delete the mail and spend your time thinking about how you can drive your own sourced traffic to your site.

Have you got some direct experience of this? I havent, but it seems to me that if the hits are cheap enough, you could get some sales from it, even if the conversion is really low?

Cheap traffic in bulk is perhaps best presumed to be bot traffic - ie, lots of automated page requests from a range of IP's - unless can be proven otherwise.

Even if not, the idea of cheap traffic can seem quite a lure, but you really need to ask yourself how on earth traffic can be so cheap if it were really that valuable.

I suggest you to keep away from those offering traffic to your websites.

I have a lot of guys doing this, but i don't recommend it.


Just try to have SEO for your site and get natural traffic.

NO NO NO! You will get the traffic (maybe) but it will all be negative traffic that will dramatically affect your bounce rate, stick to good old SEO or organic traffic that will visit your site because they want to.

This will just give you a negative google view, and in this day and age, that means you will end up paying silly amounts to get back up there.

It will increase the bounce rate,cause those people wont be interested in your site content . And also will affect your ranking .

Don't quote me on this but - I think if Google saw 3000 people visit your site and then leave within seconds it would have a detrimental effect on how google saw this site / page.

This could be made even worse if the people visiting your site are coming through a particular keyword link (that you are trying to improve your rankings for) as Google would then wonder why 3000 people who followed a link for "best makeup advice" spent 2 seconds on the site.

To me this would do more harm than good

Google Search would only know how long a visitor was on your site if they tied Google Analytics into Google Search - this would be quite impressive, but also very scary! Are you suggesting this is happening today?

Google Search would only know how long a visitor was on your site if they tied Google Analytics into Google Search - this would be quite impressive, but also very scary! Are you suggesting this is happening today?

the sounds heard that person wants to build or on grading some PTC program.
maybe's great will that traffic came from, but you don't get any benefits from it if your traffics came from PTC. (I bet sure) human traffics but has controlled by system.

Or he use a "backlink" method to increasing your traffics.

People do use bulk traffic but it is completely useless if you looking to convert these people, like most have said it will more than likely be bot traffic from a range of ip's or yu might be lucky and it will be paid to click traffic which is just as bad for conversions (you wont get any).

People do use bulk traffic but for completely different reasons and normally for blackhat reasons or fraud, There are some blackhat techniques that will cause extremely high conversions that would cause affiliate managers to investigate and ban accounts so these blackhaters buy bulk traffic to lower their conversion rate to something normal and stay under the radar.

The other use is to inflate traffic stats before you sell a website to make it worth alot more money(fraud).

i know what your thinking , you have a great product , a great price , all you need is the visitors ...lets buy 50k visitors ! easy

Dont work , im one of those twice bitten and goes back for more guys , ive been floating about web selling all sorts of products for ten years and have used these services 4 or 5 times , simply , they dont work , makes your log file look busy of your seling the site though
