Hello TechFox,

Yes, but I think these types of items are more spare of the moment purchases.

Get them in the right place infront of the correct audience and £££.

That is why I proposing the market stall idea. It might seem one of the most boring and unoriginal business ventures. Your local market is such an obvious place for buying and selling a wide range of goods. Not much money there you may well think! But anyone thinking this would be quite wrong. A market stall is one of the easiest, most profitable and best simple business opportunities there is.

I know many very wealthy market stall holders - all cash in hand.

Seems a good idea in practice but please understand that you just can not turn up at local markets and start trading. The more popular markets have a long waiting list for new stall holders and it could take mouths before you can operate from them. Also properly controlled markets have limits on the number of stalls selling similar goods.

Having set up a franchise business concentrating on the local markets sector I can confirm it can be a very profitable exercise but markets can be very cold, hostile places in the dead of winter and not a place for the fain-hearted.

Yes, thank you for the information, I am aware that some markets have waiting lists etc..

Most local markets I have visited dont have the items that I am planning sell.

My local market is in doors which is nice, and I plan to hire staff to run the stalls for me as we expand locally

I expect people on this forum to have respect for fellow business people.

This type of place is where people should talk and give each other support.

You know from our conversations that I wish you nothing but the best. I was overtaken by nostalgia from the days I lived in Britain and couldn't help myself. Your rebuke is justified, and I accept it.

Since my poor attempt at humor fell flat, let me reassure you (and everyone reading this thread) that I did not mean to imply your venture is not serious. Clearly you have the drive, enthusiam, and initiative to succeed. Go for it!

Sorry if my previous post offended you.

It was prompted by your claim to own a gastro pub, web businesses as well as your new venture to sell "products" on market stalls and car boot sells. Notwithstanding your claim to be in a position to help any business grow. Most of the replies to this were, you must admit, a bit negative.

It all ended up looking like a picture of Delboy in my head. Anyway, good luck, by this time next year you will be a millionaire!

Yes, I see where you come from - no problem.

Just to put a few facts right.

I used to run 3 gastro pub (resturant franschises) up until 2004 when I sold out.

I do have 2 online businesses www.lay2profit.com and www.winners4u.net They are both gambling type websites.

And my last post was not to offer advice as the thread was taken, but to find business oppertunitys with people who already have businesses and would maybe like to expand them to london, or need another person on board.

Hope that clears a few things up.

Let me know about this, if it is the type of business I can set-up in the background with an e-commerce type set-up then i would be interested, people laughed at me once when i imported £5000 of football shirts but they soon stopped laughing when i sold the lot in under 5 weeks and made nearly £6K profit on top of my initial £5K - that was my wedding paid for

A true Entrepeneur will try lots, fail lots and learn lots until eventually they get the idea that makes them rich!
