This has been around for a few weeks but I've been called out to 2 jobs this week to fix a 'router problem' to find the router has been hacked using a javascript exploit. The problem will probably get worse once more and more hackers become knowledgable about the hack. If you have a TP-Link, Tenda, Edimax or ZyXel router then you MUST update your firmware (there may be other models). If you don't know how to do this call in an IT company with your routers model number. If there isn't an update for the exploit then you need to change router.
This allows an attacker to gain control of your routers settings just by you visiting a webpage. They then set the DNS server to route all traffic through their own servers. This means they can potentially gain control of emails, banking and other sensitive data on all computer devices inclusing ipads and mobiles etc.
The 2 cases this week, the routers redirected the user to a 'Flash Pro Update' which no doubt would have installed malware of various types. So this is something to look out for.
