Better than Turbo Lister

Ok this has probably been done before although i couldnt find a thread in the search box so forgive me for any repeats :)

I'm fairly new to ebay shops however were not doing bad just a few weeks in, but whats really frustrating me is the template designs in lister basically their c~~p!!

Some of our competitors have info boxes etc in their actual listing how do they do this?

I know in lister you can write in html but i'm no computer genius and my html writing is as basic as cut and paste someone elses code

so is their any other software out there that will allow me to have better design utilities and still sync with ebay?

appreciate all thoughts and comments on this :)

If you are doing substantial quantities of uploads (ie hundreds a day), then OK, the short answer is that yes, Turbo lister is crap, and prone to repeated crashes the only way to correct being to uninstall and reinstall. But it is the only and best product suitable.

So, to make it work as best as you can, ensure that you compact your database daily. Delete the logs daily, and set your items up as inventory and ensure that your inventory is backed up into CSV and Turbo lister files every time you make substantial changes.

If you're putting up a lot less then there are options that will do what you want. But i'm not the best person to advise on them because for me they were all useless due to the quantities that we used to list.

Hi

We have been using a free programme called The Poster Toaster from Foodog software for some time.

Having got fed up with Turbo Lister a long long frustrating time ago.

It is a bit awe inspiring at first, not the design which is very retro, but seeing everything on one page and having to take it all in at once.

Once you get the hang of it though it works pretty well for us. We have been using if for several years.

Current version does not support the latest condition features on eBay, but maybe it will be updated in the future, but hey, its free and it does it for me.

Hi,

I am about to launch Deal Swift. Its a new online shopping centre, if interested?

I'm not interested, it sounds rubbish, does it sell spam? :p

Back on topic.

I also had loads of problems with Turbo Lister, never sync'ed when I edited a live item, sometimes I would click edit and most of the listing content would disappear!!

The design is generally poor, swapping the order of OK and Cancel buttons on different sceens.

I don't know why they do such a bad job of it, as above the easier it is to list, the more you list, the more money they make!

I say again, it's not spam if it's related to topic. You going off topic is spam.

The topic is eBay Turbo Lister and alternative eBay listing tools, which is what I discussed after highlighting the fact that Deal Swift was posting SPAM.

What does the deal swift website have to do with listing on eBay, I couldn't find any connection with eBay listing???????????

Looking at your other posts it's appears you think Deal Swift is related to pretty much anything!!!

getting back on subject :D

I,ve looked at a lot of these alternatives now and i must admit i like the look of inkfrog and auctiva,

The annoying problem now is having to pay, yes they all seem to have free tools but limit these to so many listing per annum :(

Their pay for services is ok if you list 100's different lines every month

for us we will probably be running a couple of hundred lines in the long term but the items wont really change much....

it seems i'm going to be stuck with turbo lister and i'm sick of it crashing everytime it updates:mad:

I agree with the others surely it would be in their favor to make turbolister the best tool outhere!

TL is really really great when it is working and does the job but ....

You talk about paying what is the cost of messing about with TL if you put a price on your time.

My guess is using auctiva or another will cost you far less.

We have practically abandoned ebay due to hassles with TL after dropping auctiva because we thought TL would do the job better and ebay also changed pricing rules on additional images.

In hindsight it was probably an error - I forget what they charge $10 a month.
Now we have no time to set it all up again.

Decide if you time is worth 1p or £2 or £10 or £50 an hour and do a sum.

Then if it says no to TL due to crashes then go look at some of the alternatives and choose one that fits your wishes.

Paying can be good - it means the business makes money - so is still there next year developing and changing the software to match ebay changes.

(Not SPAM - lol)

If you rely on eBay for any sort of business then I recommend that you STOP using TurboLister. There are so many bugs and yes it will eventually crash on you and therefore putting you out of action.

eBay wont admit that there is a problem and they simply tell you reinstall.

Its not worth it to persist with TL and try and sort out the bugs as it will crash time after time and with it you will lose all your listings....trust me I have been there.

I am currently using inkfrog its a web-based lister similar to auctiva and costs about $10US per month but it is well worth it. If you are selling multi-lines on eBay for $120 per year its well worth it.
