Hi Advice please, what are your Payment Gateway/Merchant Account recommendations? Something with good rates & quick funds release.? Appreciate costings & turnaround too

Thanks in Advance

CERTAINLY look at the above mentioned link.

But also consider how you want your payments to integrate with the rest of the business. There are some great integrations you can have which pull all your payments data into one place to see profitability of orders etc

Do you have an eCommerce site? Are you taking payments online, over the phone, in person?

As other posters have suggested, you need to identify how you want to take payments, and provide options accordingly.

Unless you are intending to start out at £ 400 - £ 500 a month in card sales, PayPal is as good a place to start and as your t/o increases then look at moving to a conventional Merchant account / payment gateway solution.

Another good site is www.cardswitcher.co.uk to get comparative quotes, and of course I would be happy to provide a quote if you wish, just PM me.

Good luck

We use Cashflows for our internet payments only,

For instore card terminal payments we are with Adelante,
http://www.adelante.co.uk/

As I have commented earlier their card processing charges are very high, however if they include your payment gateway as part of the service at no extra cost, that makes the charging structure a little more sensible, is this the case ?

Do you have to operate under a Minimum Monthly Service charge for your internet payments at all ?

How do the charges compare with your physical terminal service from Adelante ?

Yes, we only have one set of operating charges, they serve us as both a gateway and a merchant account.

Not so far as I am aware of.

I'd have to check, off the top of my head the processing fees are a little less from Adelante.

I will say this, we used to go to great lengths to find the best deal (price-wise) on all of the services and utilities we use, as time has gone on though I have found myself favouring more personable companies even if the costs are a little higher.
The above two companies are extremely easy to deal with.

Does sound like a good package then, and if the service is good then even better.

I agree whilst keeping your costs down is important, Customer service and Service reliability have to be considered as well, and if you are getting a good service at a reasonable cost then stick with it.

Tx for the feedback though it was most useful.

Kind regards

CashFlows prices are good and the service should be fine as long as you are using both their merchant account and payment gateway. It's slightly more problematic if using just their merchant account with a different payment gateway.

We still offer the only truly ethical alternative payment gateway option on the market, and some of the best rates.

CharityClear was set up as a social enterprise by Epilepsy Scotland, with any profits made going to the charity.

The longer term goal is to have a basket of charities involved.

So the Ethical angle is that you are a Not For Profit Payment Gateway provider, that donates any surplus you make to your charitable organisations.

Do you also provide Merchant accounts and if so who do you work with out of interest ?

That's it.

We assist with merchant account applications and have a few different partnerships with acquirers. Generally, we promote whoever is offering the best rates based on the merchants projections.

If you want to speak about partnership opportunities send me a pm.

I have been looking at Intuit Pay, looks like a part of Quickbooks but they seem very reasonable. 2.75% trax charge, a one off £49 to buy the card terminal and it all processes via your mobile phone, free app. So any of us here can download the app onto our phone, and one card reader is all we need.
And it says reciepts emailed to customer, gratuity etc. No monthly fees. perfect for startup when you dont know how much you are going to transact.

why not give them a call?
