Hi Guys,

I'm looking at a CRM system that's not too chunky and overbearing which carries out a few simple tasks.

We have a subscription service which we need to keep track of all our customers and their payments (via DD and PayPal). Also raise any notes in issues they might have and emails sent to them.

Anyone got any advice on CRM systems to take a look at? Ideally Locally hosted systems unless you can recommend highly encrypted Cloud Platforms.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

Mark.

For a couple of our businesses we use Sugar CRM - its brilliant.

Well according to my information, 'Infusion soft' is one of the market leaders when it comes to CRM, e-mail marketing and marketing Automation. Instead of a one-time automatic response, they encourage you to create a robust “follow-up sequence” based on customer behavior—this is the automation engine at work and perhaps this is the biggest strength which they have and which makes them the difference maker.

I would check out X2Engine. It is a new, open source CRM system that is designed to be compact and high performance. It avoids feature bloat, and you can host locally or on their VPS. Sounds like it would be right up your alley.

Fatfree is what we are using in-house now, it works very well.

We looked at vtiger, but the combination of some messy coding and a surprisingly large number of database tables put us off.

Exactly, every time the question gets asked on here (which is often and has been for a number of years) everyone wades in with the normal answer of sugar and vtiger. They are not fit for purpose, just because they have a ton of features doesn't make them good.

why not look at microsoft dynamics? maybe you could use the 30 day free trial to see if its what you want. There is a link to it on our website.

We wade in and recomend Sugar because we use it and we think it is brilliant!
